My First Quarter in STI

First of all, I would like to thank the Almighty God because He gave me an opportunity to go to school and to have an education in STI (Systems Technology Institute). I am very blessed because not everyone is lucky to get an education that's why I will study harder and do my best in order for me to be a successful engineer someday and also I will make my family proud. 

Within 2 months and above, I have learned a lot of things. I learned that it is possible to acquire knowledge and make assignments online. I encountered different system in STI compared to my former school because STI is computer-based. In addition to that, I had new friends which I can rely on. Thanks be to God for He helped me to overcome many trials here in STI.

My first day in STI was not that good because I don't have anyone to talk to. I feel bored and I'm not yet used to the situation. I was jealous of my classmates because some of them knew each other. Good thing, I found out that my friend, Shawn Yu, will be my classmate. I will not feel bored anymore. After a few minutes, our teacher in Pre-Calculus came and he instructed us to introduced ourselves one by one. The other teachers also did the same. I thought some of my classmates are arrogant and warmaker but when we met each other, we realized that our impression to one another is wrong. We discovered that one of us have a good personality. 

 The teaching method in STI is very different compared to my former school. We often use technology like laptops, televisions and smartphones. I like their way of teaching because technology is the thing that I grew up with. The one thing that I want in STI is that we always do the activities like role playing, reporting, singing, dancing, and games related to the lesson. 

 As we continue, we often encounter difficult situations like doing an ILS and eLMS. ILS stands for "I learn and I share". Our ILS in the first quarter is Musical Play, Wine Making, Analysis Paper and Blog Making. ILS is 50% of our grade that's why me must do it for us not to be failed.


The other thing that makes us stressed is the eLMS. It is an online education tool that allows us to review on our own time whenever we may be. With an online account, we can now access our notes, lectures, handouts, and other learning materials on our smartphone, tablet or computer - anytime, anywhere.

Eventhough we often experience hardships in STI, we choose to be happy and be confident. It is also through prayers that help us overcome these challenges. We all know that this is just the beginning of our suffering so we should always be ready for something to come.

Hi! I'm Eli John Fajilagot. I was born on June 2, 2000 at Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, Philippines. We are six siblings in the family. I am the sixth child. I took my elementary education in Dila Elementary School and I took my Secondary education in Meridian Educational Institution. I have a happy childhood living with my parents and siblings.
